  • Best Diesel Lift Pump

    O boy here we go! I have been asked to do this post for a while and here it goes. Lets start with a clean slate every company that will be mentioned I do not work for and am not paid for providing this information.

    I received alot of motivation to write this blog after reading a Best Diesel Lift Pump blog on Reddit. The post did have some good info but I noticed two things that rubbed me the wrong way. One was most guys when answering was they are all the same so I went with the Airdog because my buddy says its the best and he runs the Airdog 5G pump on his Cummins truck. The second and probably most annoying thing was guys just trying to sell one lift pump for whatever reason so they were just writing comments like this is the best because i said it is. I don’t wanna see any sent in a false direction for anyone trying to sell inferior lift pumps.

    The “other brands” not Fass and Airdog are mostly just pushing fuel and if that fits your desire and application that’s fine, but the purpose of a complete diesel fuel lift pump should be to polish fuel while delivering at a higher rate. Fass under testing has proven to remove 99% of water and air. One straight out fact is no other lift pump system on the market can do that. That in my opinion puts a Fass Fuel System among the top of the list for Best Diesel Lift Pump. All have there claims to fame from warranty to being quite if that’s your thing. AirDog works off a similar platform and its a good pump, water separation is close but not the same and the new 5G pumps range around 100 bucks more.

    There are some things to like about the Kennedy, Fleece or say PPE lift pump but most of what it is good about those ranges down to money. Fleece is just a drop in upgraded fuel pump with not extra or better filtration. Although its a great pump made by a very good company in the diesel lift pump world its just nothing more that fuel pusher. The PPE diesel lift pump is more of the same, very inexpensive out of tank mount option that utilizes all the normal and sometimes known to leak and suck air filter systems. After installing every one of these lift pumps I will say the Kennedy quality is good and very in line with Fass but there’s not a test I can reference or do my self that shows that it will filter down to 2 microns while removing 99% of water and air. It does come in at a slightly lower price point and I can see while some in the diesel world would recommend this pump, but when it comes to delivering the cleanest fuel at a higher rate a Fass Fuel System is the best diesel lift pump in the business.
